While everyone has been racking up headshots in Resident Evil 4 in VR on Quest 2, exploring the mysteries of deep space in Lone Echo II on the Rift S, and delving into the turn-based dice roll dungeons of Demeo across both platforms, the teams at Capcom and Armature Studio, Ready At Dawn, and Resolution Games respectively have been racking up award wins and nominations. After taking home the honors for Best VR Game at the 2021 Game Awards last month, Leon’s iconic adventure is back on top of the podium once again for more honors at the 11th Annual New York Game Awards—and Lone Echo II, Demeo, and Resident Evil 4 are all nominated alongside After the Fall and Song in the Smoke at the SXSW Gaming Awards.

For the New York Game Awards, we’re thrilled to announce that Resident Evil 4 has the honor of winning both the Freedom Tower Award for Best Remake and the Coney Island Dreamland Award for Best AR/VR Game of the year. Also nominated for Best VR Game were Floor Plan 2, Mare, Ragnarock, Star Wars Pinball VR, and Traffic Jams.

In Resident Evil 4, you step into the shoes of Leon S. Kennedy as a special agent for the U.S. government on his mission to rescue the US President’s daughter who has been kidnapped by a mysterious cult, now in first-person VR for the very first time. Find your way through a rural European village, come face to face with challenging enemies, and uncover secrets and gameplay that have revolutionized the entire survival horror genre. Battle horrific creatures infected by the Las Plagas parasite and face off against aggressive enemies including mind-controlled villagers as you discover their connection to Los Illuminados, the cult behind the abduction.
